Native of Lewiston, Maine. Holds a B.A. in criminology from the University of Southern Maine and an M.A. in human services administration. Served as Cumberland County sheriff, a state representative, and a state senator. Elected to the Portland City Council in 2020 and elected Mayor of Portland on November 7, 2023.
